International Children’s Day of Broadcasting - All Rights, All ChildrenMEDIA ADVISORY The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) invites a journalist and photographer / TV crew from your agency to attend and cover the following event: What: Tune in to Me! § News Conference: International Children’s Day of Broadcasting (ICDB) § Participating TV and Radio Stations to share plans for ICDB 2010 on 7 March When: Who: § ICDB 2010 TV and radio broadcasters, including presenters § Leo Burnett (Tune in to Me campaign partner); Mr. Terence Ooi, Global Brand Director § UNICEF Malaysia Where: Why: The rights to participation and expression are an integral part of adolescent development. Broadcasters have the chance to empower young people by giving them media skills and putting their voices on the air. This shows other young people that they, too, can have a voice. It also shows the world what young people’s thoughts are about their lives and communities.
Every year, thousands of broadcasters in more than a hundred countries take part in the day, celebrating it in ways that are as unique and special as children themselves. For more information, please contact: Indra Kumari Nadchatram Fara Zahri
