Campaign for children

Advance the rights of children by taking action on issues that affect them such as child abuse, AIDS, disability and child poverty. Write to your Member of Parliament and/or to newspaper editors; or organise a talk at your school, workplace or place of worship. Get started by learning about these issues through the various campaigns on this section.

Learn about child rights

Get a unique insight into the issues faced by children by visiting our online resource centre. Learn about UNICEF’s priorities for children by browsing through publications, reports, fact sheets and videos. Topics available include child abuse, child protection, child rights, climate change, education, HIV and AIDS as well as Islam and children.

Spread the word

Help spread the word and raise awareness about a story or issue on our website using your email, Facebook, My Space, You Tube or other social networking accounts. You can do this via the “Email this article” or “ShareThis” icons at the top right hand corner of our website pages.

You may also wish to start a blog about children and their rights, or if you already have one, consider highlighting what UNICEF is doing in support of children. Or, Tweet about our initiatives to get the word out.

Join our social networks

Show your friends and family that you are a part of the UNICEF family and passionate about children’s welfare and wellbeing by joining our social networks. You will also get news about children, be able to watch videos about our work as well as network and discuss issues affecting children with other like-minded people.

Volunteer with our partners

Because of the nature or our work and structure of our Malaysia country program, there is little field volunteering opportunities available at UNICEF. There are however several local non-governmental and community-based organisations that we work with in the country who would welcome your involvement and support. They include:

Although part of the United Nations family, UNICEF is not funded by the UN. We rely instead on voluntary donations from our supporters to fund our work for children in Malaysia and worldwide. Your donations allow us to focus on teaching, encouraging and mentoring communities to build local capacity and establish systems that will last and transform the lives of children.
