It begins with education

Education is a fundamental human right. It benefits not only individual children, but also their families and communities for generations to come. It provides a foundation for sustainable economic and social development and can be a catalyst for peace.

At its very heart, education is about something far simpler: a child's right to dream.

And the opportunity to achieve that dream.

Education enriches children and builds their confidence. Educated children are less likely to become victims of violence and abuse. They are more likely to invest in improving their community when they grow up. And the follow-on effects can turn a vicious cycle of poverty and missed opportunity into a virtuous cycle of empowerment and growth.

No matter what the larger goal, it all begins with education.
