Media training

Every child is born with rights. The fulfillment of their rights depends on actions in which everybody understands and respects their duties to children, and also acts upon them.
The media particularly can and should be among the foremost champions of children’s right and protection. They can oversee government activity, raise awareness of issues and provide advocacy on behalf of children.

In telling children’s stories, principled reporters pay attention to some basics – story ideas, ethical balances, children’s voices and views, the way children are portrayed, visuals accompanying stories – to ensure that the dignity and rights of every child are respected in every circumstance.

Organised by UNICEF in conjunction with the 20th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the All Rights for All Children Media Workshop aimed to strengthen understanding around child rights issues and to inspire each reporter to become a champion for every child.
