Guidelines for sending examples of your work
Please email us examples of your project's work, using the guidelines
below. You should send the email to magicmedia@unicef.org.
If you are unable to email us examples, and would like to find out
about sending them by post, please email magicmedia@unicef.org
and we will be happy to advise. If you need any other help with
sending in examples, please feel free to email us at that address.
Images
Images can be sent electronically in most formats, but high-quality,
high-resolution JPEGs or TIFFs are preferred. Try to include some
images of project members at work (or play). We can also scan prints
and transparencies although we prefer to receive files electronically.
Video
Video clips on the MAGIC site are displayed in Real Player format
(see Useful links) but we can also receive
your clips electronically as QuickTime, Windows Media Player, AVI
and most other common formats, by email or on CD. We also accept
video on VHS cassette although we prefer to receive files electronically.
Try to avoid sending us clips of more than one minute's duration.
If your clip is longer please send us details of a suggested shorter
portion that we can include.
Audio
Audio clips on the MAGIC site are played in Real Player format
but we can also receive your clips electronically as QuickTime,
Windows Media Player, MPEG and most other common formats. We also
accept clips on CD (audio CD or CD-R), MiniDisc and standard cassette
although MiniDisc and cassette are less preferred. Try to avoid
sending us clips of more than five minute's duration. If your clip
is longer please send us details of a suggested shorter portion
that we can include.
PDFs
PDFs or portable document files are displayed using
Adobe Acrobat software (see Useful links) and
are a good way of including a poster or leaflet on the website without
the design altering. If your software allows, you should save for
Acrobat 4 or earlier, optimise for screen rather than print (to
avoid creating a huge file) and embed all fonts (so the correct
typefaces appear at the user's end).
Captions and credits
Please include text for captions and credits and be sure that the
photographer or creator of the work consents to it appearing on
the MAGIC website.
