UNICEF Madagascar is working with private sector partners to expand their role in the fight for children’s rights, strengthening partnerships a collaborations to ensure an effective engagement in meeting children's rights in Madagascar.
With a young population of nearly 10 million people under the age of 18, social investments in children reflect long-term investment in the future of the country.
UNICEF has established private sector partnerships with more than ten companies in Madagascar in sectors that include mining, agriculture, construction and telecommunications. These partners are reaching Madagascar's children in many ways, including by building basic infrastructure, such as schools and youth information kiosks; by raising awareness of the issues facing Madagascar's women and children; and by providing logistical support during emergencies.
