Country Programme 2008-2012UNICEF Madagascar's 2008-2012 country programme contributes directly towards national development priorities that aim to improve the lives of Madagascar's children and women. Designed in consultation with national partners, civil society organisations, donors and other development partners, the country programme is in line with the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) in supporting Madagascar to move towards reaching the Millennium Development Goals of 2015. UNICEF Madagascar's work is grounded in a human rights-based approach to programming, and is committed to reducing disparities in the well-being of Malagasy children by ensuring that the most vulnerable among them are increasingly able to realise their rights to survival, development, protection and participation. In order to achieve its aims, the country programme is committed to:
In addition to working directly with children and young people, UNICEF works in partnership with other United Nations agencies, NGOs, civil society organisations, private sector partners, religious and cultural groups, community leaders, the media and the public.
