Consultancy - Reader friendly design of a quantitative analysis of the situation of adolescents and young people in Latin America and the Caribbean based on recent household Surveys (MICS and DHS)

BACKGROUND

UNICEF has produced a Quantitative analysis of the situation of adolescents and young people in Latin America and the Caribbean based on recent household surveys (MICs, DHS, and others).  The document has 138 pages, containing text and graphics.

MICS, DHS and other national household surveys have enabled many countries to produce statistically sound and internationally comparable estimates of a range of indicators in the areas of health, education, child protection and HIV and AIDS.  Findings have been used extensively as a basis for policy decisions and programme interventions, and for the purpose of influencing public opinion on the situation of children and women around the world.  Many of these indicators are very relevant to assess the situation of adolescents and young people between 15 and 24 years old.
