Duty station: UNICEF Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean–Panama (TACRO)

Level: NO-A (National Officer)

Purpose:

Under general supervision of the Regional Chief of Partnerships provides support and guidance in PFP related finance and operations issues to country offices with local fundraising and/or sales-licensing operations. Acts as focal point on issues related to finance and operations in the PFP Regional Support Centre in TACRO. Liaises with the Finance & Operations division at PFP HQ. 

The key responsibilities of the Operations Officer will be:

  • Serving as regional liaison person between the Country Offices, the Regional Support Centre, Operations Section in TACRO and PFP Geneva-Headquarters on all matters concerning operations and finance in regards to PFP.
  • Oversees the completion and accuracy of local fundraising and sales/licensing budgets submitted by country offices within the region. Monitors the implementation of such budgets and investment plans.
  • Providing support to Country Offices and Regional Support Centre in all recruitment related matters.

Minimum Requirements:

  • University degree in accounting, business administration, economics or financial management.
  • Training and experience in operations and finance in UNICEF is an asset.
  • A minimum of 3 years professional work experience.
  • National or international work experience in office management, finance, accounting and administration and/or other related fields.
  • Proven ability to work with Microsoft tools (Excel, database, Word). Advanced knowledge of current computer software systems, especially those used by UNICEF. Knowledge in SAP is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish. Other UN language is an asset.
