May 2007, Training for Trainers: Reporting on Children
Between 10-15 June 2007 media trainers from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will discuss the issue of reporting on children in their own countries. With the help of trainers from the British company MediaWise, they will develop learning modules to be used for students of journalism and for training local journalists. Participants will be exposed to experience from other countries and learn about media monitoring conducted in Kyrgyzstan in April this year which looks at how journalists see children and the quality of media coverage of child-related issues. They will also discuss recent research on the situation of children and women in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan conducted with the help of UNICEF local offices.
