National Conference: Education Development Strategy 2020 and the Medium Term Programme for Education Development in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2012-2014
In Bishkek, on 14-15 July 2011 at the “Ak-Keme” hotel, the national conference will be held to discuss draft strategic documents of education development for long- and medium-term period. The Conference is funded by the European Union and UNICEF and is technically supported by the EU Project “Support to the Kyrgyz education sector”.
The Ministry of Education and Science in conjunction with the Agency for Vocational Education and Training under the MoLEM of the KR will present for wide discussion draft Education Development Strategy 2020 and the Medium Term Programme for Education Development in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2012-2014 in terms of relevance, likely impact and sustainability.
The participants of the discussion are representatives of all levels of the education system – from preschool to higher professional education, students and parents, employers and trade union spokesmen, staff of scientific-methodological organizations and professional associations, personnel of local self-government units and education management bodies, experts from NGOs and public, international and donor organizations, representatives of the Parliament, the Government office, Ministry of finance, Ministry of economic regulation, Ministry of social protection, and Ministry of youth of the KR. The Conference will be attended by more than 160 people, including 50 participants from remote regions and 10 international experts in education.
The expected results of the Conference are to endorse the conference resolution and to call the Government of the KR and key stakeholders for making efforts to achieve goals of education system development stated in the strategic documents.
