News Digest, June-July 2009. Improving the Nutrition of 6-24 month Old ChildrenStarting from 25 June 2009, all children aged at 6-24 months in Talas province will receive food enrichment sachets with iron and other micronutrients essential for child health and development. Families will receive packages of ‘Gulazyk’ (‘sprinkles’), which they can easily add it to their children’s food. The programme is being implemented by the Ministry of Health in close partnership with UNICEF and the Kyrgyz-Swiss-Swedish Project.
