Programme objectives:

1.  Contribute to an improved legislative environment for children & women to protect their rights.

2. 
Contribute to an improvement of the psychosocial well-being of children & women victims of violence, abuse, neglect & exploitation.

 

Indicators of programme success:
 Number of legislation related to child and women protection that are passed by the Parliament

Programme components:

Components of the Protection Programme

Project One: National Policy Development
Functioning information systems on protection issues within different governmental & non-governmental organisations. (Child abuse & labour & disability, Children in need of parental care, Domestic violence, Substance Abuse & street/working kids) by 2005.

Project Two: Children at Risk (Children in Need of Special Protection)
Ensure that institutionalised children are re-integrated into a family environment, & children in conflict with the law are treated in accordance with international human rights standards. Ensure that women have access to SCM practices against violence.
