Programme objectives:
1. Contribute to the emergence of a national approach to community led social development
Indicators of programme success:
The harmonization of development approaches in the country.
Main partners (Ministry of Planning) adopting the UNICEF Community Empowerment approach in one of their pilot areas.
Programme components:
Components of the Community Development Programme
Project One: National Networking for Community Development
Ensure coordination and coherence in approaches to community development by all partner agencies by the end of 2007.
Project Two: Community Development at the Governorate Level
Ensure the establishment of participatory integrated community-based development structures in 15 communities in 3 governorates. Also, that all UNICEF interventions are implemented in the 15 communities & through their participatory structure.
