The Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Finance which has the mission of leading the process of policy formulation of economic and social issues and external cooperation management to achieve sustainable development for the people of Jamaica.

The Ministry of Health is responsible for ensuring the provision of an adequate, effective and efficient health service for the population of Jamaica. Services are provided through the government’s network of twenty-three (23) hospitals and over three hundred and fifty (350) health centres and specialised institutions.

The Jamaica Coalition on the Rights of the Child is an NGO which works to monitor and implement the Convention on the Rights of the Child nationally in Jamaica.

The Child Development Agency (CDA) is an executive agency of the Ministry of Health and represents an amalgamation of the Children’s Services Division, the Adoption Board and the Child Support Unit. Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) is a branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force. The objectives of CISOCA are: to create an atmosphere which will encourage victims to report incidents of sexual offences and child abuse; to ensure efficient and effective investigation into allegations of abuse; to enhance the rehabilitation of victims through counselling and therapy and to conduct public education programmes on Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.

The Ministry of National Security exercises overall responsibility for the security and defence of Jamaica. The security of Jamaica is provided by the national forces (the police force and the army) and punishment and rehabilitation of offenders is carried out by the Correctional Services.

Bureau of Women’s Affairs is an agency of government, charged with focusing on the advancement and the rights of women and girls.   

Jamaica Youth for Christ – is a faith based organisation which focuses on the social and spiritual development of young people
