Famous Norwegian singer and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Sissel Kyrkjebo visited Jamaica June 13-17, 2007  to view activities being undertaken in the area of children and AIDS with funding from UNICEF.  She was accompanied by Kjersti Flogstad, General Secretary of  UNICEF National Committee for Norway.   Sissel is best known for singing the Olympic Hymn (Hymne Olympique) at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, for duets with Plácido Domingo, Charles Aznavour, Neil Sedaka, Warren G, Josh Groban, and The Chieftains, and for participation on the Titanic film soundtrack.

During their three day stay, they visited Children First and were taken to Old Harbour Bay to witness the intervention by CF's Bashy Bus Krew.  They also visited Dare to Care residential home for children living with AIDS and had an opportunity to talk with the children there.   Young advocates attached to Panos Caribbean also shared their experiences as youth journalists with them and they also visited with children at the Centre for HIV/AIDS Research (CHARES) who joined Sissel in a sing-along.
