Globally, UNICEF works with nearly 200 Goodwill Ambassadors to increase public awareness on the rights of children. In the nearly 50 years since celebrities began working with UNICEF, they have helped influence government policies on behalf of children, publicize children's issues around the globe and raise funds for UNICEF-supported programmes.

Celebrities in Iran have played a significant role in helping create public awareness and mobilize action and support around children’s issues.

UNICEF Iran office appreciates the work of all these celebrities in particular the faithful company of its Goodwill Ambassador and Cinema actress, Ms. Mahtab Keramati who has actively supported us since the first moments of teaming up with UNICEF in an HIV/AIDS awareness raising campaign for children in 2005.

Some of her invaluable contributions to UNICEF Iran mission include participation in communication videos and Public Service Announcements, planning and mobilization of celebrities for key advocacy events and campaigns as well as media   interactions to generate discourse around key issues of children.
