Role of Religious Leaders in Prevention of Violence against Children

UNICEF Iran office in cooperation with the National Body on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, will organize four technical workshops on “The Role of Religious Leaders in Prevention of Violence against Children (VAC)”. The four workshops, which will take place between June-September 2014, will focus on four priority VAC-related issues i.e. sexual abuse, early/forced marriage, discrimination (gender-related, ethnicity-related, religion-related), and neglect, with a view to determining specific actions that can be taken by religious leaders)  in alphabetic order: Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Zoroastrianism) to prevent these phenomena. Participants will include officials and experts from various relevant government and non-government organizations, and academic institutions
