UNICEF Iran congratulates Goodwill Ambassador Mahtab Keramati to Fajr Festival Award
Tehran, 11 February 2009 – The staff of UNICEF Iran, and its Representative Christian Salazar, are congratulating UNICEF Iran’s Goodwill Ambassador Mahtab Keramati to the Award she has won at the 27th Fajr Film Festival in Tehran yesterday.
“The Fajr Festival is one of Iran’s most well-known and important events for movie makers and actors, and we are very happy that Ms Keramati has been given an Award for her work by such a prestigious festival,” Mr Salazar said.
“We are very proud of her to have received this recognition, and hope that it will further support UNICEF Iran’s engagement with Ms Keramati in promoting children’s rights in Iran,” he said.
Mahtab Keramati, who is very engaged in the social field and in particular a proponent of children’s rights, has been UNICEF Iran’s Goodwill Ambassador for the last three years. With the Award, the Fajr Festival jury recognized her supporting acting role in the movie “20”, which describes the battle by restaurant workers in Tehran to stop the forcible closure of their work place.
