UNICEF signs agreement with Iran's Interior Ministry to work with local governments
TEHRAN, 1 September 2008 - UNICEF Iran has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the country's Ministry of Interior today that strengthens the organization's capacity to work with selected local and provincial governments and communities in the country. The agreement, which establishes a new working relationship between UNICEF and the Ministry, will prepare the ground for local projects that aim at reducing disparities and improve the lives of children in Iran.
The Memorandum was signed today by Ahmad Hosseini, Director General of the Ministry's International Affairs Department, and Christian Salazar, UNICEF's Representative in Iran.
