“Let’s be kind to our children” launch of a new partnership between UNICEF Iran and Iranian Private SectorTEHRAN, 14th June 2007 –PAKSHOO chemical and Products Company and UNICEF Iran today inaugurated their partnership for the benefit of Iranian children. The partnership which carries the message” Let’s be kind to our Children” entitles Pakshoo co. Golrang brand, to donate 110,000 dollars to Iranian Children through UNICEF over a period of 13 months. The money will mainly be spent on UNICEF’s Integrated Early Childhood Development (IECD) activities in the three focus provinces, of Sistan and Balouchistan , Hormozgan and West Azerbaijan. “The early years of a child’s life are crucial.” Said UNICEF representative, Christian Salazar Volkmann” When well nurtured and cared for their earliest years, children are more likely to survive, to grow in a healthy way, to have less disease and fewer illnesses, and to develop thinking, language and emotional and social skills.” The donation from Golrang will be spent on establishing and equipping 25 Rural Child Care Centres( RCCCs) and establishing and equipping 6 Nutritional Counseling Centres (NCCs), in priority districts in the three provinces. Part of it will also go to expanding the school-based nutrition programme. “Cooperation with well-known organizations like UNICEF could expand our global relations, and boost Iran’s cultural and social exchanges in the world” said Masoud Sezavar-e-Zakerian, Director General of Pakshoo co.” That’s why Pakshoo, Golrang co, tries to carry out its social responsibilities through supporting Iranian children with the help of UNICEF.
