About the CampaignFive years ago, world leaders came together to agree on the Millennium Development Goals, setting targets for reducing poverty, increasing health care and education and halting the spread of HIV/AIDS. Unless the world takes into account the impact of HIV/AIDS on children the chances of meeting these goals grow slim. That is why UNICEF has launched the Global Campaign on Children and AIDS. The campaign, which will last from 2005 – 2010, urges the world to come together, urgently and decisively, to ensure the next generation of children can grow up in a world free of AIDS. What are children and young people around the world missing?
Spreading information is one of the most important ways of stopping the spread of the disease. Without information, young people cannot protect themselves. They need to know the facts about HIV transmission in order to prevent it. Knowledge builds confidence, which also helps young people protect themselves. What can you do? Read more on this site for information about how you can get involved in the campaign.
