UNICEF helped ensure continued access to health care after the earthquake. |
UNICEF rehabilitated the vaccine cold chain for the province of Kerman, to ensure effective immunization and safe vaccine storage. UNICEF is helping to develop the capacity of medical staff at different levels in cold-chain management and disaster response. Supplies were also purchased for iron fortification of flour based on the results of a survey that showed nutritional deficiencies among children under age five.
