UNICEF support enabled schools to restart within weeks of the earthquake. |
UNICEF provided ‘school-in-a-box’ and recreation kits to enable schools to restart within three weeks of the earthquake. By tracking children who are not enrolled before the start of the new school year, UNICEF is re-engaging thousands of children in education. UNICEF also introduced ‘Child-Friendly School’ principles as an important guide and continues to ensure access to quality education for all children. Other activities focus on curriculum reform and the introduction of participative teaching and learning methods.
