Ethiopia launches UNITE FOR CHILDREN UNITE AGAINST AIDS Campaign

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, 25 October 2005 – Haile Gebrselassie, one of the greatest distance runners of all time, helped to launch UNITE FOR CHILDREN UNITE AGAINST AIDS in Ethiopia.
Mr. Gebrselassie spoke with young people and signed a quilt at the launch, which coincided with the launch of Ethiopia’s national ‘Campaign for Vulnerable Children’, and which was held in Africa Hall
Richard Mabala, head of Youth, HIV/AIDS and Child Protection for UNICEF Ethiopia, emphasized that children had to be placed at the forefront of the fight against AIDS.
