| Most Egyptian children enjoy their most basic right, the right to survival. |
Egypt, 30 November 2004 - A brand-new website created by UNICEF's office in Egypt is now available.
The website will offer insights into the lives and struggles of Egyptian children, while also providing a guide to UNICEF interventions throughout the country.
Among the main stories covered are Egypt's ongoing battle to eradicate polio, and the struggle against the practice of female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C). The experience of single-classroom schools set up with UNICEF support in the remotest parts of the country is told through the eyes of a girl pupil.
Also available on the site are overviews of what life is like for Egyptian children; real life stories; and more.
