Prominent among the guests were UNICEF’s Deputy Executive Director Karin Sham Poo, and Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, the patron of UNICEF Denmark.
The focus of the evening was to raise awareness and money to fund UNICEF Denmark’s work on behalf of girl’s education.
In November, the Princess travelled to Bangladesh and India as part of a 50th anniversary tour to highlight the issues surrounding education for all.
Further highlighting Denmark's importance to UNICEF's work, Executive Director Carol Bellamy also paid a visit to Copenhagen just days after gala.
Though Denmark is a small country, it ranks in the top five in terms of per capita donations to UNICEF, serving as a model for other countries around the world.
