Super Indo Supports UNICEF in Raising Funds for National Immunization Program Through Super Indo Outlets Across the Country
From August 1 until December 31, 2008, you can channel donations to UNICEF through cashiers at Super Indo outlets across the country. The cooperation between UNICEF and PT Lion Super Indo is aimed at raising funds for the National Immunization Program, which will be held in 2009. Inoculations will be provided to 4.7 million babies aged 0-12 months throughout the country in an effort to combat infant mortality, which currently claims an estimated 460 babies per day. The inoculation program aims to protect babies from seven major preventable diseases like Hepatitis B, Polio, BCG, Difteria-Tetanus-Pertusis and measles. Immunization is by far the most effective way to save children’s lives from those diseases. Through its national program in partnership with the Indonesian government, UNICEF wants to ensure that all babies aged 0-12 months, especially those living in remote villages, receive lifesaving immunizations. In addition, UNICEF will continue its mission to educate families about the importance of inoculations for their loved ones. Let’s unite for Indonesia’s children.
