VACANCY REFERENCE: 09-023
Title:   Health Specialist
(Fixed-Term, NO-C level, IMIS 44721)
Duty Station:    Ambon
Contract Duration:   31 March 2010

SUMMARY OF THE POST: 
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Field Office, the incumbent will coordinate the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Health and Nutrition activities, with special attention to the Maternal, Newborn Health, Nutrition and Malaria in Pregnancy Programme; Immunization programmes and Nutrition programmes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced University Degree in Health Sciences, Master in Public Health preferable
• At least five (5) years of professional working experience in related fields of community development in mother and Child Health care. Some knowledge of malaria desirable.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Working knowledge of another UN language is an added asset.
• Proven skills in proposal preparation and report writing
• Level of decision-making.
• The staff can be relied upon to provide up to date professional expertise to the Field Offices in his or her sector and to leverage this expertise successfully to meet the goals of UNICEF.

SUMMARY OF THE POST:

Within limits of delegated authority, under direct supervision of the Representative, the Executive Officer will provide management and monitoring support to the Office of the Representative by following up on a number of corporate responsibilities of the Representative.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree in Social Sciences or Business Administration, or other relevant field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.  
• A minimum of two (2) years experience is required. However, the sensitivity of the post would demand an additional 2 years in professional capacity exposing the incumbent to coordination and government interactions. Experience in working both in development and crisis environments.

SUMMARY OF THE POST:

Under the general guidance of Chief of Communication, the incumbent will assists in planning, monitoring & evaluating an advocacy and communication strategy to get children’s and women’s issues into the public domain, strengthen political will in support of UNICEF’s mission and objectives in the country and enhance the organization’s credibility and brand.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design or a related field.
• At least two (2) years of practical professional work experience in Communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media. Field work experience, background / familiarity with Emergency situations.

SUMMARY OF THE POST:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Field Office, and in collaboration with MGP-BE Project Officers in Jakarta, the incumbent is responsible for providing assistance for the overall project design, planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation of programme / project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, including teamwork and capacity building. In particular she/he will ensure the effective review, planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of the MGP-BE project activities at the field level in consultation and coordination with the related local government and non-government partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University Degree in Education, Social Sciences or related technical field.
• At least two (2) years of progressively experience at national and provincial levels in project design, administration / management, monitoring & evaluation in education related fields, particularly, related to basic education, with knowledge of latest developments regarding access, quality, efficiency and relevance of education sector.
