Communication for Development Specialist(Adolescents Development and HIV Prevention)Job Code: UNC4D Location: New
Delhi Major Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Provides C4D
technical support to Government of India counterparts, partners and UNICEF
programmes with advice on best practices and lessons learned, locally,
nationally and around the world, related to adolescence development and HIV
prevention. 2.
Support ICO and
assures the quality of child-rights based programmes and supports ICO
programmes and contributes to the development of C4D annual work plan, ensuring
that adolescent development and participation issues are mainstreamed in
initiatives and strategies both at Delhi and State level..Analyzes and
evaluates data related to adolescents and/or proposes corrective action when
necessary, in order to meet programme/project results 3.
Coordinates with
Child Protection section around PCR 3 to ensure C4D perspective are included in
all the strategies and activities related to Adolescents, including also
HIV-protective behaviours. Explore existing schemes/flaghships programmes
related to adolescents and HIV protection, especially those enhancing
participation and social inclusion.
4.
Works with
partners to improve evidence-based strategic approaches through research and
assessment in adolescents most at risk and especially vulnerable to HIV- , in areas such as adolescent sexual
behaviour, paying specific attention to the role of Social Norms.
5.
Assists the KM
Focal Point and the C4D network to plan, organize and produce knowledge
management products and learning activities in the area of policies, planning,
programming, management, monitoring and evaluation of adolescent-related
programmes.
6.
Undertakes field
visits for monitoring and supporting programmes, as well as conducting periodic
reviews with government counterparts and other partners. Recommends action for
programme adjustments related to adolescents and HIV prevention in Delhi as
well as in the States.
7.
Contributes
towards the preparation of IMEP studies and other relevant investigations
compiling data, analyzing and evaluating information, and writing relevant
sections of documents, especially those related to adolescent and HIV
prevention.
8.
Acts as the C4D
Focal Point for adolescents, meeting with national and international partners
covering the innovations of the programme. When required, participates in
meetings with Ministries responsible for national programme/project review, and
follows up on implementation of recommendations and agreements. Assists in the
development and/or introduction of new approaches.
