Launch of the State of the World's Children 2008 ReportWHAT : Launch of the State of the World’s Children (SOWC) 2008 Report: Child Survival
The theme of the report this year is Child Survival. Latest evidence shows that 4 million babies still die each year in their first month of life, and up to half of these die in their first 24 hours. The largest absolute number of newborn deaths occurs in South Asia with India contributing to a quarter of the world total. An analytical presentation of the key findings of the report will be made alongwith participation by front-line health workers from Orissa.
