Sundari’s song

Sundari, a silent and unassuming tribal girl, decided articulate the aspirations of children in the camp through a song in the Gondi tribal language. To begin with 24 children, mostly girls, danced to the tribal song and then the whole camp, all three thousand children were singing and dancing to the new found theme song.

It was soon translated into Hindi. When the Rohit Yandav, the district  Chief Executive Officer arrived at the camp to conclude the Child Rights Fortnight, the entire camp was singing Sundari’s song of freedom.

We want to sing
We want to dance
We want to learn
We want to fly
We want to live
We want to reclaim
All that we have lost.
