Purpose of the post:
The Health Officer contributes to the overall effort of Country Programme implementation at state level within the framework of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). Responsible for technical assistance in planning, implementation, and monitoring of high impact interventions for improved child survival, maternal health, system strengthening, in focus districts, with particular reference to the vulnerable and hard-to-reach.
In addition, the incumbent provides support and technical assistance to Dept of Health & Family Welfare and Dept of Women & Child Development in the state in policy analysis, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the NRHM and Reproductive and Child Health Programme Phase 2 (RCH II).
Minimum Requirements : (Qualification, Experience and Competencies)
At least two years’ experience at National/State level in programme development, monitoring and implementation of primary health care programmes including experience in field-based implementation.
Fluency in English and Hindi. Knowledge of the regional language desirable.
Current knowledge of development issues, policies, as well as social programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation in the area of health.
Managerial, analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
Drive for Results.
Good training ability.
Knowledge and use of information technology, word processing, graphics presentations etc. as well as Management Information Systems and databases. Knowledge and training on use of work planning tools an asset.
Ability to work harmoniously in an international and multicultural environment.
