Horn of Africa, 2000

In 2000, a region-wide drought in the Horn of Africa threatened the health and welfare of 13.4 million people in seven countries, 70 per cent of which were women, children and the elderly. Vaccination was a part of UNICEF’s emergency assistance to a handful of the affected countries.
