Remarks by Mr Abheet Solomon Deputy Representative UNICEF Guyana and Suriname at the Launch of the TELL Campaign – November 19 2012

Sexual Violence against children is a gross violation of their rights. However, unfortunately it is a global reality across all countries and social groups. Sexual violence against children can take the form of sexual abuse, harassment, rape or sexual exploitation through prostitution or pornography, and it can happen anywhere; in homes, institutions, schools and communities.



World Day for Prevention of Abuse and Violence Against Children -19 November, 2010

UNICEF is joining the rest of the world in observance of “The World Day for Prevention of Abuse and Violence Against Children.  Child abuse is a global problem and Guyana has not been spared.  Newspapers continue to report the rising numbers of child abuse cases, some of them gruesome.
