Adolescent Development and Empowerment
The Adolescent Development and Empowerment project aims at providing children and adolescents with opportunities of participating in cultural and community activities to promote non violent and peaceful society with respect to human rights.It also provides the space for all adolescent girls and boys in school to have access to gender sensitive life skills education and peace education programs. During 2006 over 200 youths for 10 villages and different ethnic background in Region 4, participated in a series of sporting activities aimed at improving life styles and living in peace. Sixty Five youths in one Region (5), have been provided with skills to establish a Learning Community through education, skills training and culturally creative activities. During the year also school children in two regions were sensitized on the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)and its implications.
