Global Capacity Development Programme on Child-Friendly Schools
UNICEF's Education Section in New York has prepared a capacity development programme on child-friendly schools (CFS) that supports countries in designing and implementing CFS models that are most appropriate for their specific circumstances. By identifying key principles and outlining common practices – as well as highlighting effective approaches, documenting success and compiling lessons learned – UNICEF seeks to comprehensively bring together currently existing resources and information on CFS.
The Global Capacity Development Programme on CFS includes such resources as:
- The Child-Friendly Schools Manual
- Modules, accompanying the Manual, on climate change and environmental education; water, sanitation and hygiene, LSBE, child rights, and child social and financial education
- CFS e-learning package
- Capacity development workshops
- Resource packages on environmental issues, life skills-based education (LSBE)
- Cooperation agreements for integrating CFS into Teacher Training Institute (TTI) curricula
- CFS country case studies
- Global evaluation of CFS: Evaluation Report | Executive Summary [PDF]
- Education Policy and Strategy Simulation Model (EPSSim) training
