Reducing newborn deaths in Northern Ghana
SAVELUGU, Ghana, December 3 2013 - OUT of every 100 babies born in Northern Ghana, four die in their first month of life. A grassroots system to monitor newborns and increased access to intensive care equipment can save lives.
A partnership between Ghana Health Service, the Government of Japan and UNICEF is filling the gap.
This slideshow shows the impact of this partnership on the life of newborn baby Fulani Abdulai.
