JETIX Kids Cup Finals Held in Germany
Little Georgian footballers did whatever adults could not do. Georgian flag flying on Munich Olympic stadium during the World Cup Days
Georgian kids did not win the final world tournament but as they said most important was participation. Girls’ team from Tbilisi, the capital and the boys’ team from Telavi (eastern Georgia) went to Munich final tournament after they won the national finals in Tbilisi on 1 June. They competed with other kids from the rest of Georgia.
The Jetix Kids Cup formally known as the Fox Kids Cup has officially been launched in Georgia in April. Unite for Children was the main slogan of the football tournament supported by UNICEF in Georgia together with Coca-Cola and Elit Electronics companies. The football championship organized by the most popular independent TV company in Georgia Rustavi 2 targeted the children up to 13 and aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle among children.
The Jetix Kids Cup saw its third year in Georgia and has already gained an enormous popularity among children, both boys and girls. The tournament was held in 20 cities of Georgia and 4000 children took part in it.
The Jetix Kids Cup formally known as the Fox Kids Cup is an annual global football tournament for boys and girls under 13 years of age. The aim of the Jetix kids cup is to combine the world's most popular sport with the exposure of the global Jetix brand to promote the values of sportsmanship, active lifestyle, and cultural exchange among young people from around the world. Now in its seventh year, the Jetix Kids cup is firmly established as the largest event of its kind organized by a media company in the world.
In 2006, Jetix will continue the tradition of the Jetix Kids Cup by holding the International Final in Munich, Germany at the Munich Olympic Stadium in the 2006 World Cup year. The main partner of the tournament is UNICEF worldwide.
