Summary: Filippino chanteuse, Regine Velasquez takes time off her busy schedule to examine the issues surrounding "children in need of special protection", a term used by UNICEF to cover all those children in difficult circumstances. They are the abandoned children who need love and shelter. They are the abused children in need of protection from abuse and violence at home. They are the street children - living and/or working on the streets. They are the working little ones who risk life and limb in hazardous work environments. To explore the issues in depth, Regine visited the community in Payatas, one of the biggest garbage dumps in Manila and joined the street educators on the streets of Manila. |
