Summary: "Fight Poverty! Invest in Children!" The small child shouting out from the podium is just one of the many remarkable children who helped shape a history-making event in New York, May 2002. More than 60 world leaders - and several hundred children - gathered for the first ever UN Special Session on Children. The result - a set of ambitious time-bound goals for children on child health, HIV/AIDS, child protection and education. The sheer dynamism and intelligence of the young delegates come to the fore in this eight-minute video that captures the colour and vibrancy of this unique gathering. Above all the video raises important questions and calls world leaders to account on their new commitments to the future of children everywhere.
A further, unnarrated 30-minute compilation of important events during the week of the Special Session is also included.

Price: $500 Beta, $500 VHS
