Main sequences: Today, 75 percent of women aged 15 to 50 in Uzbekistan suffer from iron-deficiency anaemia, affecting not only their health, but that of their unborn children. The government of Uzbekistan and UNICEF are using micronutrients to protect women and children from anaemia. Uzbekistan hopes that expanded use of micronutrient-fortified flour and iodized salt will help put an end to this preventable health condition.
