The people of the province of Al Hoceima in Morocco require international assistance to help them rebuild their shattered lives after the earthquake of 24 February. Today more than 35,000 children are not able to go to school because their classes, dormitories, and school supplies have been destroyed. Because access to education and knowledge is the best hope for children and parents in this poor province, the Moroccan Government and UNICEF will embark on a strong "back to school" campaign. The campaign will also provide psychosocial support and recreation activities to children and in the mid-term even lead to increased school attendance, especially for girls.
