Donor Update - 9 June 2004
Over 150,000 Sudanese refugees have fled into eastern Chad from violence and abuse in the Darfur region of Sudan. In just 2 to 3 weeks, the rainy season will begin, making roads inpassable and cutting off a majority of the refugees. UNICEF and partners are racing against time to deliver humanitarian assistance to the beneficiaries. UNICEF has started to meet the needs of refugees and host communities by implementing health, nutrition, education and mine risk education activities.
