| UNICEF Issues 2006 Report on State of the World's Children | 15 December 2005 |
|
Yesterday, UNICEF issued The State of the World's Children 2006: Excluded and Invisible. The report is UNICEF's annual flagship publication, representing the most comprehensive survey of global trends affecting children. It offers a sweeping assessment of the devastating toll that exclusion, abuse and neglect takes on children and their countries, and provides a complete almanac of up-to-date statistical data on children. To illustrate the human impact of the issues addressed in the report, UNICEF has prepared a special website featuring the personal stories of eight children from around the world. In their own words, the children speak about their struggles and their achievements, their dreams and aspirations. Through their voices we learn first-hand what it means to be excluded by poverty, HIV/AIDS, conflict and disabilities. We invite you to hear their stories and learn more about the state of the world's children. Thank you for all that you do. UNICEF |
