Child Protection Specialist (Juvenile Justice), L-3, Sana'a, Yemen

Purpose of the post:

Under the guidance of the Chief of Section, responsible to develop, plan, implement and monitor activities related to juvenile justice (Advocacy for Legislation and Policy Development; Institutional Capacity Building and Non Custodial Measures; Protection and Reintegration of Children Deprived of their Liberty as well as prevention and reintegration activities).

Your profile:

. Advanced university degree in social sciences, law or other fields related to child rights.
. Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and international levels in the development, implementation, management and evaluation of child protection programmes, with special emphasis on juvenile justice.  Experience with NGOs and in advocacy and social mobilization an asset.
. Current knowledge of human rights issues, policies and international standards.
. Good understanding of and skills in juvenile justice programming.
. Proven ability to negotiate and build consensus with Governments and civil society.
. Excellent analytical, communication (both verbal and written) and advocacy skills.
. Willingness to tackle sensitive issues and ability to use tact and discretion in doing so.
. Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas as well as transfer knowledge and skills.
. Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
. Ability to develop partnerships with civil society organizations including academic and professional organizations and network in child protection fields
. Supervisory and managerial skills.
. Excellent knowledge of computer management and applications.
. Fluency in Arabic and English required.
