The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the world's leading organization working for the rights of children, is seeking a dynamic and highly qualified Director, for its Office of Internal Audit, to provide UNICEF management with an objective and analytical assessment  of the organizations management systems including risk management,  internal controls and governance processes  for all aspects of the organization's operational and programmatic work.

As a member of the Global Leadership Team, the Director appraises management of audit findings, recommends solutions for areas of identified weakness to increase the effectiveness and the efficiency of UNICEF operations, as well as advises in the review and formulation of global policies.

He/she plans, directs and reviews the activities of the internal audit function and establishes objectives, priorities and procedures for work of the Office of Internal Audit, that consist of audit, advisory services and investigation of wrongdoing.

We are seeking a leader with extensive team management experience, a high sense of integrity, excellent communication skills and a commitment to UNICEF's mission. Fluency in English is required and a working knowledge of at least one other UN Official language would be an asset.

Qualifications: Advanced university degree in business or public administration, accounting, economics or equivalent professional qualifications. Professional certification in accounting or auditing (CPA, CA, CIA, CISA etc.) is desirable.

Experience: At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in management and financial auditing, preferably with non-profit organizations. Experience in management reviews would be an asset.
