Data Analyst Consultancy, Internal Human Resources Capacity Mapping, Division of Human Resources, New York Headquarters
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has an opening for a six months (mid-June to mid-November) consultancy in the Division of Human Resources in New York Headquarters. The major focus of this assignment is to map the capacity of UNICEF's Education professional staff globally. This Capacity Mapping is a pilot, the results will be used to develop overall global strategy in building Talent pools, and Employee professional development programs.
The selected candidate for this consultancy will manage large scale data. S/he will work with both UNICEF human resources and programme staff at both headquarters, regional and country levels in collecting, assessing, and analyzing data; in addition, s/he will generate gaps/capacity reports. The results of the Capacity Mapping will be used to develop short, medium and long term human resources plans for the Education sector.
Minimum Requirements
Advanced university degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Evaluation and any other relevant technical field.
Three to five years professional work experience in conducting large scale data collection, assessment, and analysis related to Education and/or Planning Monitoring and Evaluation. Experience using human resources information systems and/or Education Management Information Systems will be an asset.
Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (e.g. SAP-HR, PeopleSoft)
Strong analytical, quantitative, qualitative and data analysis and problem solving skills;
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work creatively and analytically to solve problems;
Eagerness to work in a team-oriented environment with people from multicultural backgrounds;
Demonstrated ability to manage information and work with cross-functional teams;
Excellent knowledge of computer applications and databases
Ability to plan and monitor work and work independently;
Ability to deliver quality and timely results even under pressure
Fluent in English and one of the following languages: French, Arabic, Spanish.
Remuneration
Fee range from $3,800 (minimum) to $6,420 (maximum) per month; the rate to be paid is negotiable depending on what the selected candidate possess beyond and above the minimum requirements outlined above.

Appointment
The selected candidate will be offered a consultancy contract known as SSA in UNICEF New York. S/he will be required to work on full time basis at UNICEF's Division of Human Resources in its New York headquarters. If appointed outside of New York, UNICEF will cover the cost of travel from the selected candidate's place of recruitment to New York. At the end of the assignment, UNICEF will provide a return ticket from New York to the candidate's home country.
