300: The lifetime risk of maternal death is 300 times greater for women living in the least developed countries than it is for those from industrialized countries

Target 5.A: Reduce by three quarters, between 1990 and 2015, the maternal mortality ratio.  

Gaps in maternal, newborn and child health care among income and population groups have widened markedly. 

As a key example, the lifetime risk of maternal death is 300 times greater for women living in the least developed countries than it is for those from industrialized countries.
