Fact of the week
2:1: The ratio of urban and rural women reporting at least 4 antenatal care visits
Millennium Development Goal 5: Improve maternal health
Target: Reduce by three quarters the maternal mortality ratio
Not surprisingly, there are marked urban/rural differentials in use of antenatal care, the differences being most pronounced for four or more antenatal visits. Women living in urban areas are generally twice as likely as those living in rural areas to report four or more antenatal care visits.
